Update: Fire that spread from garage destroys Bridgeport home

Bridgeport, N.Y. — Two people were displaced from their home after a fire started in Bridgeport house garage Saturday evening, firefighters said.
Bridgeport Fire Department responded to the home at 8910 Ladd Drive around 5:24 p.m., according to Onondaga County 911 Dispatchers.
There was a fire in an attached garage that spread to the one and a half story home, according to Bridgeport Fire Chief Jim Ostrowski.
Two people were home when the fire started but were able to get out safely, he said. The home is considered a complete loss, and the two residents were displaced, he said.
Firefighters are still determining the cause of the fire.

Bridgeport, N.Y. — Several fire departments have been fighting a fire in a Bridgeport home for several hours this evening, blocking a portion of Route 31.
Bridgeport Fire Department responded to the home at 8910 Ladd Drive around 5:24 p.m., according to Onondaga County 911 Dispatchers.
The garage of the one and a half story home was fully on fire, according to dispatchers.
Route 31 was blocked off at Weaver Road on the western side and Smithridge Road on the eastern side as firefighters worked to put the fire out.
